A Classic Berry Smoothie
I’ve always loved smoothies, but my passion for creating easy smoothie recipes started back in college during my stint working at Jamba Juice. I made tons of different smoothie recipes each day and got a pretty good feel for things I liked, things that I would change, and how I would recreate each smoothie recipe if I could add whatever I wanted.
When my “professional” smoothie making days ended, I started experimenting and perfecting my own homemade smoothies inspired by flavors that I loved, and this spinach and berry smoothie has been one of my favorite recipes ever!
This green berry smoothie recipe is one of my favorite breakfasts. I’m usually in a hurry in the mornings, so being able to make something in LITERALLY 5 minutes that I can drink on the go is AMAZING. Also, for just about any fruit smoothie recipe, you can buy frozen fruit or put your fresh fruit in the freezer so that it will last longer without going bad.

Best Protein Powder For Smoothies
If you’ve tried making homemade smoothies before but couldn’t get the texture that you wanted, try adding protein powder to your smoothies! I usually add vanilla protein powder to all my smoothies, whether they are all fruit or green smoothies.
Protein powder will create a thicker consistency and help you avoid an overly runny smoothie while adding a nice vanilla taste. I swear by the Pure Protein Vanilla Whey Protein Powder. It’s by far the best one I have tried!

Spinach and Berry Smoothie
June 22, 2021Equipment
- Blender
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 pinch salt
- ½ cup strawberries fresh or frozen
- ¼ cup blueberries fresh or frozen
- 1 cup spinach about a handful
- 1 cup pebble ice or 8-10 ice cubes
Instructions
- Pour almond milk into blender. I usually pour the milk in first so that I can use the measurement marks that are on the blender itself.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Blend until smooth: A lot of blenders have a smoothie button or setting you can select which usually works great! (My Blendtec Blender has been a total game changer. Not only is it great for smoothies, but you can also make milkshakes, sauces, batters, you name it.)
- Pour & Enjoy!

Could I use spring mix?

You can usually use kale & spinach from the spring mix! If your spring mix has arugula, it might give your smoothie a bitter flavor. 🙂
