  • 4 cups milk whole or 2%
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder (natural unsweetened)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, heat the milk, heavy cream, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt over medium-low heat. Whisking frequently until warm.
  • Add in the chocolate chips and whisk continuously until they are fully melted.
  • Whisk in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon until fully combined. Remove from heat and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips
  • Substitute the heavy cream for additional milk if needed
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator and reheat them on the stove or in the microwave
