    Bread: You can make this avocado toast with feta on any kind of bread you like. We recommend a classic sourdough bread or rosemary sourdough for added flavor.

    Avocado: A perfectly ripe avocado is essential for any avocado toast. A slightly soft and dark green avocado will give you the best smooth and creamy avocado texture.

    Salt: Add salt to taste when making this avocado feta toast. Just a pinch of salt should do the trick since garlic salt is also used here.

    Tomatoes: We use medley tomatoes for added color and flavor. Classic cherry tomatoes are also a great option!

    How To Make This Recipe

    Start by toasting two thick slices of bread until they’re nice and crispy. Sourdough toast is definitely one of our favorites for this recipe! You can use a toaster, toaster oven, or the broil setting on your oven to get your bread perfectly toasted.

    Slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the avocado flesh. Add the avocado to the top of the toast and mash it with a fork until it’s as smooth or chunky as you like.

    If you prefer a smoother texture, mash the avocado in a small bowl before spreading it onto the toast. Make sure the mashed avocado is spread evenly on the toast and add a pinch of salt to taste. 

    Slice the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and place them on top of the avocado. Then, sprinkle on the garlic salt and red pepper flakes.

    Next, add the fresh basil leaves on top. You can use whole leaves or chop them into smaller pieces if you prefer. Finally, top the avocado toast with a sprinkle of feta cheese crumbles.

    Toast the bread in the oven. Using the broil setting on your oven is a great way to toast thick slices of bread that are too large for a toaster. Lightly butter the bread before putting it in the oven for a perfectly even browning.

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 slices bread
    • 1 avocado
    • 1 pinch salt to taste
    • 6-8 medley tomatoes or cherry tomatoes
    • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
    • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
    • 3-4 fresh basil leaves
    • 2 tablespoon feta cheese

    Instructions
     

    • Toast two thick slices of bread until perfectly crisp and golden brown.
    • Slice the avocado in half and remove the pit. Scoop the avocado onto the toast and mash it with a fork. For a smoother consistency, mash the avocado in a bowl before spreading it onto the toast.
    • Add salt to taste over the smashed avocado. Slice the tomatoes into bite-sized pieces and add them on top. Then, sprinkle on the garlic salt and red pepper flakes.
    • Add on the fresh basil leaves (whole or chopped). Finally, top the avocado toast with a sprinkle of feta cheese crumbles.
